As a gay man living in Manchester, Matt understands the inequalities many LGBT people face either from professionals or through accessing services. Within the new group Matt wants to facilitate and support LGBT parents' needs. He would like to ask parents/carers to contact him, to discuss their needs for this group.
Proud 2 b Parents have access to many different venues and services through the Surestart programme, so gay parents will be offered vast support and advice. It is hoped that this new service will be the beginning of much LGBT work via Surestart.
The group is held on 4th Saturday of every month, between 2.15-4.15pm at Alex Park Play Centre, Alex Park, Moss Side. The group is Manchester wide, and they have opened up the age group to include parents/carers with young people under 19.
