It is estimated that in 2007 there were about 32,000 men who have sex with men (MSM) living with HIV in the UK, and about a quarter of them will be unaware of being HIV+.  In 2007 MSM accounted for 41% of all new HIV diagnoses reported in the UK. Early diagnosis of HIV leads to fewer complications and fewer onward transmissions.
