Transgender or ‘trans’ is the commonly accepted umbrella term for transsexual people, transvestites, cross-dressers and intersexed people. For a more detailed definition of these terms CLICK HERE for Northern Concord

Some transgendered people feel part of the LGBT community, others prefer to identify with groups for transgender people only.

We do not know of any trans groups in central or south Lancashire, however there are groups in Manchester. In addition, young transgender people (under 25) are welcome at the LGBT youth groups Pout in Chorley and PYRO in Lancaster.
